Frequently asked questions

Do you teach kids and beginners?

Yes! Beginners are my favourite — there's nothing better than watching someone discover their voice for the first time. My studio welcomes students aged 10 and up, through to adults. No experience needed whatsoever.

What should I bring to my first lesson?

Just bring a song or two you love — something you listen to all the time or can't stop singing in the shower. That's enough to get started. If you have an audition book or repertoire folder, bring that too. Oh, and a water bottle!

What is your cancellation policy?

My time is valuable and so is yours. Please give at least 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling, otherwise the full fee is owed. This allows me to reallocate the time to someone on the waiting list.

Where are you located?

My studio is in Surrey Hills in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Online lessons are available via Zoom for students anywhere in Australia.

What styles do you teach?

Contemporary, musical theatre, pop, classical and everything in between — including belting technique. Every lesson is tailored to your voice, your goals and the music you actually love.

Can you help with AMEB exams?

Absolutely. I offer full AMEB Comprehensive and Repertoire exam preparation. A $100 admin fee per exam applies in addition to standard lesson fees.

How often should I have lessons?

Most students find weekly lessons give the best results — your voice builds muscle memory just like any instrument. Fortnightly works well too, especially if you're practising consistently between sessions.

Can I record my lesson?

Yes please! It's a great idea so you can listen back and practise at home. Bonus points if you keep a lesson diary too.
